Video plays too fast when spacebar is held down #548

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Hold down space bar,
2. Video will repeatedly pause/unpause.
3. Video will play much faster than normal

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Video should repeatedly stop/start, not skip frames and audio. If anything, it
should appear to play slower rather than faster. There may not be a valid use
case for repeated pause/unpausing, but this is certainly a bug.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

gnome-mplayer 1.04

Please provide any additional information below.

This occurs regardless of whether frame skip/drop are enabled.

/// and I realise that this may be an unsolvable issue due to how gmplayer is
embedded into gnome-mplayer, but it could be symptomatic other asynchronous
control issues.

Weird... not sure I'm going to spend much time on this as it is definitely a
"why would you do that" case. I actually tested it with stock mplayer and it
does the same thing. So it actually might be an mplayer bug.

Well the difference between doing this under mplayer or gmplayer svn33951 vs
gnome-mplayer is just that it seems to speed up MUCH more under gnome-player.

I can't really see it causing much of a problem for anyone/
