Because several vendor systems send noncompliant HL7, Mirth should be able to be configured to imposed relaxed HL7 processing, as well as common fixes for non-compliant messages. An example would be line-encodings - currently Mirth can not process messages with non-standard line encodings, however it is relatively simple to fix in code. This affects all areas of the code, especially the HL7 message template/tree.
