Being able to communicate with the Audit Record Repository is part of the 2011 CCHIT requirements for ambulatory (I assume for others also, but it's the ambulatory I'm working on), so this has become more important to EHR vendors.

As someone heavily involved in a statewide HIE deployment, we could/would Mirth more extensively (for many many different trading partners, and types of trading partners) if we could interact w/ ATNA profiles from IHE.

I totally agree with Ed VanBaak ... 4 Years later ... nothing ? That's why our project was stopped prematurely despite all the possibilities offered by Mirth ...

The IHE (www.ihe.net) provide a secure system to generate audit from different applications based on ATNA profile. You can find all tehnical description in the Technical Framework ITI about this profile, for example if mirth generate ADT messages from a typical database patient demographic system mirth has to send an xml message using a syslog protocol to an Audit Record Repository actor. It is very useful to have a centralized audit repository.
