Classic iconset lost in 2.2

Classic icon set is deprecated from v2.2.0 onwards.

Why ? The new icons are too big and ugly, they don't match the OS rules.

The old icon set seemed to have been copied from other locations. Hence, it wasn't homogenous from look&feel and I'm not sure about the license. The new icon set is proper in these regards. In addition maintaining two icons sets creates additional maintenance efforts.

From the technological perspective, we can separate the icon set in an own compiled resource files that can be maintained independent of the rest of the project. Would you or do you know somebody, how would volunteer as maintainer for the old icon set? This includes creating icons, whenever new features require it. We can then distribute the icon set along with newer releases.
