Hello Rogério, are you still maintaining xpdf-poppler? If not, what PDF software are you currently using?

rbrito commented 7 years ago

Dear @baimafeima,

I have not been using xpdf-poppler since maintaining it requires following closely each and every change made to the poppler library. Any change there breaks xpdf-poppler and this makes it unfeasible, at least in the current state of affairs, to keep maintaining things.

We would need some restructuring to make things work more stably, let alone have this work be included in distributions and reach actual users.

OTOH, if you have changes that move things forward (or know someone that does), please don't hesitate to point them here, so that the project can pick up the moment.

That being said, I am using atril at the moment, for reading PDF files. It still doesn't allow zooming in as with xpdf-poppler, but I have far less free time right now and am squinting my eyes more frequently. :-(

Thanks for the interest in the project,

Rogério.
