Hi Robert, Tony and I have been discussing about what are useful events to be entered. Here's what Tony wants to see (and my response after "-"). I will send an email to you as well. I just want to give you a heads-up.

Sounds great. Only tricky thing is making sure the weather data stays up to date!

  • Elevation of vineyard sentinel blocks - We may able to get it when the user specifies the location in the system, if not, we can get it from the NEWA
  • Extreme low temperature recorded in the vineyard in preceding winter, along with the date - this is a great idea. I will ask Robert if we can implement it.
  • Percent bud kill assessed before pruning on sentinel varieties - can be a new entry.
  • Date of 80% bud burst on sentinel varieties - can be a new entry.
  • Growing degree day accumulation since 1 April - we do not have the function, but it would be relatively easy to add, I would think.
  • Rainfall accumulation since 1 April - the same as above.
  • Date of 80% bloom on sentinel varieties - we have an entry for it, but we can highlight the 80% mark
  • Observation on significant (warrants management spray or other control) insect, mite or disease outbreak - we have entry for it.
  • Extreme temperatures during growing season - I think it would be similar to the extreme cold temp. Once we have set a threshold, it can be displayed.
  • Evidence of drought stress - Can be a new entry, but probably need what we are looking for.
  • Date of 80% veraison on sentinel varieties - the same as the bloom.
  • Grape ripening kinetics - we probably need what we need to enter.
  • Date of harvest - have the entry already.

I wonder if you can make a figure (which is similar to the disease one) that shows daily high and low over 15 days or so. I think that will cover it.
