It is great having the material type drop down list rather than a box for typing! However, there is no way to have a blank selection. You must select a category and once you have done so you are unable to return to an 'unselected' status.
As someone who was recently searching for chemicals which may or may not be linked to the correct category (ie the case of the missing herbicides..), the ability to search without selecting a material type would be helpful.
