Revise pictures in the early part of the book to make them more visually clear #623

The concern here is that the pictures in Level 3 (and maybe one or two later in the book) are not necessarily all that easy to view in print form. I did make improvements to this for 5th Edition, which I think makes a bit of a difference, but I'm not sure it is all the way there yet.

I could increase the contrast, though I need to be careful that the PDF version still looks accurate to what is actually on the screen.

I could also increase supersample the pictures to upscale from the 96 DPI to 300 DPI, and/or scale the images up. The purpose of the images is to be evocative, not to show all the details of every single step. So I don't want them to dominate the page count.

There's a lot to think about here, but I'm sure there's a way to make it better....

I've made these pictures have slightly higher contrast, and we'll see how they go. Not in print form, they look slightly better, but we'll see how they turn out in print form.
