I have a long-term goal to include "versus" sections in the book that analyze the tradeoffs between competing ideas (or using a feature vs. not). I like that idea, conceptually, though I feel like it is more to bite off than I can afford right now. Doing so would require a fair bit of rework. So I've decided to defer the idea until a future edition.
Alas, I toyed with the idea enough that I currently have versus sections in the book. Given that they're a bit haphazard and incomplete, I want to just remove them for now, and put the discussion back into the normal flow of the book.
They've all been removed now. There were only about five. They were all replaced with discussions elaborating the comparison without being special flagged as "vs." sections.
