Can't compile remail-iphone #16

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Mac OS 10.6.2 Snow Leopard
2. XCode Version 3.2.2 (Pre-release)
3. Debug | iPhone Device and/or Debug | iPhone 3.0 Simulator

ld: library not found for -lcrypto
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Command /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.2
failed with exit code 1

Thanks for any advice.

Can it be that the generated Makefile get the wrong path? ..
INSTALLTOP=/Users/<user-path>/remail-iphone/build-crypto-
deps/binaries//Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS3.0.
sdk/Debug
.. double slashes between binaries and Developer.

I hope it sounds not too stupid, but where should be located the makefile you
mentioned?
Double checked my stuff but have not found any wrong path actually.

Erased at this time, but if it has implications it is the automatically
generated files in the OpenSSL-part. (Sorry
for not being more involved at this moment.)

I have the same issue. I just downloaded the source and pull_dependencies.sh
didn't spit any errors but when
compiling reMail with Xcode it spits out the library not found for -lcrypto
error.

Hi, I have two Mac. One is Macbook (OS 10.5.8) and the other is Mac MINI (Snow
Leopard). I downloaded the reMail and compiled in both computers.

Macbook is OK but Mac Mini had the same issue.(library not found -lcrypto error)

Exact same problem.... anyone figured it out?

ykim0907 probably already answered some of the symptoms, that compilation
sometimes doesn't work. It will
compile under Mac OX Leopard, but not under the later Snowleopard. Why, is
still to figure out.

It's definitely not OS problem (Snow Leopard) but shell scripts problem.

By default build_all_deps.sh script compiles OpenSSL ONLY! for iPhone SDK 3.0
and
only for native ARM code and you can easily run reMail on devive. But no
building
for simulator occures.

If you change SDKLIST and include 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 3.2 etc SDKs then you'll
get
iPhone code for mentioned SDKs but still no simulator versions.

PLATFORMS="iPhoneSimulator iPhoneOS" looks correct but didn't check deeper

It seems that try to link against a missing crt1.10.6.o module. Just like the
name is autocomplete with the OS version. To Fix I just...

cd
/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator3.0.
sdk/usr/lib
sudo ln -s crt1.10.5.o crt1.10.6.o

and make again the deps

So you rebuild the crypto libraries (e.g, the second half of the
pull_dependencies script?
