Nodes should have icons to indicate what they are

We want to be able to visually distinguish what kind of nodes we have by use of custom icons.

Icon design thoughts

Roush Agent

• I wanted a way to indicate that the node is connected to Roush. The lightning bolt can signify this.
• Color should be discussed.

Chef

• Chef "C" is the primary logo in the icon. This represents
• Color should stay orange as it's part of the chef branding.

Chef Server:

• The icon is a stack of servers.
• Color should stay orange as it's part of the chef branding.

Chef Controller:

• The icon is steering wheel to indicate "control".
• Color should stay orange as it's part of the chef branding.

Chef Compute:

• The icon is circle to indicate it's a single, small node.
• Color should stay orange as it's part of the chef branding.

Nova:

• The icon is some sort of sun/super nova exploding, lol
• Color should be discussed.

Container:

• The icon is an open box to indicate a container.
• Color should be discussed.

Node:

• The icon is circle to indicate it's a single, small node.
• Color should be discussed.

Thoughts? Icons are coming from http://www.somerandomdude.com/work/iconic/ for the interest of time. (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/us/)

If we need to design custom icons, I'd be happy to. Just need to indicate what they should be.

These look good. Any concern about the "connected to" being red instead green? Or does that keep better with the overall theme?

Jason, These icons aren't really aiming to provide a status of something but rather a label color. I could understand how a red color mixed with a lightning bolt (which sometimes is attributed to connectivity) could definitely be misleading. Good catch.

Rough draft

Here's a preview to how the nodes and containers might look with the icons attached. The icons aren't relevant to what they're on so know that they shouldn't make much sense at the moment. Should we limit the icons to the most meaningful few? (we'll know it's a node or a container just by looking at it, etc)
