Confirm X11 graphics forwarding for Mac #47

There is a question about whether XQuartz is still the current best practice for X11 display forwarding on Mac OS (on connecting page). Can we get confirmation and edits if not?

As far as I know XQuartz is still the recommended software to use.

I just did a test with Matlab on my M1 Macbook pro and experienced a similar black screen issue to Ross. It seems to be a known issue with the M1. Trying for a workaround.

Going to close this, as XQuartz is still recommended. ThinLinc can solve most issues on M1 macbooks
