Bug: The instance session "" [...] is unreachable right after selecting it as the location for one or more workflow components - it has probably become unreachable moments ago (E#1655799123756) #45

Sometimes, when I start a workflow with components from a remote (vm, through vpn), the above error occurs and the workflow fails. The error then appears all the time I try to run workflow.

Hi, thanks for the report.

The first step would be investigating the debug.log files of your instance and the workflow host/controller instance. From the steps you tried, I assume you have access to that server? Unless you use a non-standard profile, these files should be located at <user home>/.rce/default/debug.log. The time of a "typical" failure in that log would be helpful as well.

As it seems you are at DLR, the easiest way would be to send me these zipped (!) log files via email, unless it contains particularly sensitive information (e.g. workflow/tool/VM names pointing at confidential work).

Hi Jan,

as far as I'm aware we have not received any log files for inspection. It this issue still reproducible? Without further information, we cannot investigate it.

thank you for your comments.

We’re continuing our work using RCE, but the bug did not reapper. When it does reapper, I will gather the information from the log files, as suggested.
