Goal:

Brief:

The RChain Cooperative is looking for activists/members to actively engage with the broader crypto-community in a way that clearly communicates RChain's value proposition in the native language and within the most important channels for that community, so that developers and enthusiasts have a constant point of reference as RChain releases more and more information.

The individual must be familiar with blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in general, with an enthusiasm for the RChain technology, cooperative and ecosystem.

Languages(including but not limited to)

Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Various European, Indian, Japanese

Channels(including but not limited to) Reddit Telegram Discord Steemit Slack FB Groups

Responsibilities:

Coordinating with marketing team and activists members to spread appropriate messaging across forum channels such as reddit, steemit, slack, fb groups.
Provide support for questions and concerns asked through assigned channels
Aggregate questions, concerns and answers to repurpose for content creation
Organize and participate in local meetups and events related to rchain ecosystem
stay up to date on industry trends
provide engaging content for social channels
update with feedback at the weekly activist meetings

Requirements:

Sufficient experience in cryptocurrency communities
Familiarity with RChain, Casper, blockchain technology
Social media marketing experience is a plus.
Writing and editing skills

@Ojimadu yes, I believe we have a subreddit /r/rchain-coop. But reddit is one of the main reasons that we will want a position like this. we need to have active engagement on these channels more then currently.

At this point I dont know, was putting it as an issue in order to get feedback on what we think the role should entail, and if its worthwhile filling in out a personalized SOW.

Community managers is somewhat ambiguous. I suggest Ambassador rather than Manager. While there should be one responsible person we should encourage more links. I suggest each channel be a /dig action activity in mattermost where members can commit to cover the channels they frequent

@momchilov, I frequent reddit but mostly just to read and not really engage in discussion until recently because some sub-reddit I use requires certain amount of karma to participate especially /r/ethtrader. I also frequent Telegram, Facebook and discord.

@derek7272 awesome! Yes, in particular we need to get reddit working for the more technical audience. But a FB group is close behind so lets work that out.

@kennyrowe most certainly. I will help show them the ropes and part of the role will include engaging in the activist weekly meeting to provide feedback.

So far no response to my @rchain queries on Discord and Slack. In Discord Merv, based in Singapore, setup a couple Telegram channels and is willing to participate. @patrick727 Why is there no marketing channel on Discord? I wanted to post about keeping the social media handle naming consistent. Or is there but I'm not in..

Hi guys, Merv here. As mentioned above, I believe the @rchain handle is parked, so I've set up the following:

RChain Coop Chat Group at https://t.me/RChain_Official_Chat RChain Coop Announcements Channel at https://t.me/RChain_Official (Telegram only allows underscores in their handles. I've set the names up to synchronize with @derek7272 new subreddit which I think is great and clears the FUD from the old subreddit)

I'm from Singapore (GMT+8) and will be willing to manage this timezone to build out the community in this region. I'm also fluent in Chinese and can create an additional Chinese Telegram channel to grow RChain with the Chinese community.

If the community can give me the go ahead, I can launch these 2 as the RChain Coop Official Chat and RChain Coop Official Announcement channels. Would this be good? If that is fine, you guys can join the telegram too and I'll give the administrative rights.

However, before I proceed with spreading the word of the official communication channels, I would like to have a quick FAQ built out as I'm sure there will be questions about the project's history with Synero, Conversion rates, Finalized Circulating Supply from the votes etc. Who should I run them by?

@Mervyn853 Great to hear! There is a FAQ at: https://github.com/rchain/reference/blob/master/faq.md It's overdue for an update after the Member meeting. I'm one of the maintainers (but all are welcome to contribute).

We – and this is a larger we – need to coordinate our activities across multiple social channels. Please see Discord where we can chat about it.

  As for Reddit, @derek7272 has secured the r/RChain_Official and a few of us have 
  volunteered to moderate that. I feel that the old /r/RChain subreddit has a lot of 
  FUD from the old Synereo days which we will be better off starting from scratch.

Imho we should keep and cleanup/moderate both r/rchain and r/RChain_Official.

For Telegram operators: There's a bot in rchain_coop named Group Butler now. It's used on a bunch of other channels (including MaidSafe which might have the most awesome community in the cryptoverse). The bot enables new users to be informed about the rules of the channel. It does many other things useful for administrators. Chat with it, it's impressive.

The bot supports Markdown so we can work out the rules of the rchain_coop channel in Github. I created this doc (currently empty): https://github.com/rchain/Members/blob/master/projects/bots/groupbutler/rules.md

If anybody knows a better bot we can try that one out. But regardless of which bot we use, we need to work out the rules before we go prime time, so think about it and/or copy some rules from existing channels.

Update on the ongoing Telegram config:

Based on user feedback we've moved the rules into the Pinned Message.
The /rules command requires that (new) users start the Group Butler bot in their Telegram. Only then do they see the rules. And they must leave the rchain_coop channel to do so :(
However the rules still exist and we'll keep them in sync. Admins can always call up the rules, in-channel, with the /rules command. So that can be a gentle warning when we have unruly users.

Does anybody know where the Member voting results are? I've lost track of the doc. If it's a PDF, can we publish a link to it? That would be a good first post for the https://t.me/rchain_official channel.

Also, I was thinking about setting objectives and our target audience for growing the community while the devs are focusing on working on the platform.

At such an early stage, I feel the main purpose of the social strategy will be to recruit advocates, activists, people who really believe in the potential of rchain and will espouse the values to their own circles and communities through word of mouth. Introduce to them rchain, rholang, casper and why it would be their platform of choice for building dapps.

The easiest way will be to target those already interested in high throughput scalable platforms like EOS, HASHGRAPH, ZILLIQA, RED BELLY BLOCK CHAIN, etc maybe through their different communication / social channels.

We should probably start with this core target audience who can join us as members to grow the coop. I've already started on this in telegram groups and proud to say we are organically growing our telegram group, about to reach our first 100 members!

The DEV issues that @MParlikar has released for collaboration. Try to get interest people to become a member through Discord and finally become a collaborator on github/rchain/members. They can read CONTRIBUTING.md
