For all issues

[Keep italic labels, replace brackets with answer]

For example #656 was duly and diligently carried out, however there is really no adequate measurements platform or protocol to evaluate my result as many person private chatted me on how to register and showed keen interest but it was difficult for me to ascertain and keep record of about 50 people all more who chatted me up for clarifications on RChian..

[MEASUREMENT] Creation of an Identity URL for Individual Marketing for Result Proof.

Estimated Budget of Task: $[2000] \ Estimated Timeline Required to Complete the Task: [2weeks] \ Measure of Completion: [ Creation of an Identity URL for Individual Marketing for Result Proof].

[See CONTRIBUTING.md for details on budget and reward process.]

-- \ Legal \ _Task Submitter shall not submit Tasks that will involve RHOC being transacted in any manner that (i) jeopardizes RHOC’s status as a software access token or other relevant and applicable description of the RHOC as an “asset”—not a security— or (2) violates, in any manner, applicable U.S. Securities laws.

This is a nice initiative. But I think it has already been taken care of. During the appear in verification, it is usually asked how the individual got to know of RChain and who invited the person. And moreover there is a database of the users.

David405 commented 6 years ago

By direct URL for marketers do you mean Referral link?

Keaycee commented 6 years ago

@philipandri002 I don't understand what you mean by Direct URL for marketers.

PatrickM727 commented 6 years ago

can you help me understand what an identity url would look like?

based on the #656 example, I think you mean something similar to affiliate links for influencer marketing. That will come once the influencer/micro-influencer marketing work-streams go live.

We understand the need for kpi's and associated measurements.

Thank you!

BTW in advance of the influencer/micro-influncer workstream we can continue to build list of potential influencers, channels and tangential markets that we want to target. That will help!!!

philipandri002 commented 6 years ago

@David405 @Valentine-mario@Keaycee I think it is more of what @patrickM727 is saying.

I myself do not have a full detail of exactly what it should be but I think its more Like what @patrickM727 explained

My whole idea is to see how important that is and how we can collaborate on it and make it work . it's going to motivate marketer or influencer when they can directly oversee their effort and its result.

So everyone is allowed to collaborate until we get it right.

This issue needs programmers and developer to work on

@Iamcoderisk @dckc @truffard @david405 and any other programmer should collaborate

philipandri002 commented 6 years ago

@David405 yes..something like a referral link

philipandri002 commented 6 years ago

Pionelle commented 6 years ago

Collaboration is key, then to do things by self If having the direct url increase the productivtie of the persons then that is fine bonne chance

I believe if looked into will be a great deal .. If we can come up with that we can actually know who introduced who or who invited who.

casanwugo commented 6 years ago

Valid point raised @philipandri002.

The URL would provide a measure of workdone for each marketer bringing in new members to the community, and I'm quite sure it would boost efficiency and productivity as well. This should mean soliciting approval, mobilizing developers, and more work.

dckc commented 6 years ago

Let's please reserve the Development label for software development, not developer marketing.

dckc commented 6 years ago

oh... oops...

This issue needs programmers and developer to work on ...

philipandri002 commented 6 years ago

I calling on the admins to look critically this issue I raised. Let the RChain admin make a decision whether this issue needs approval or not so that we can move forward..@deannald @Jake-Gillberg @dckc.

Maybe I should close it?

dckc commented 6 years ago

When you say "we" who are you referring to? Which developers are standing by for approval? I would like to see more of a design sketch before I approve the task.

I'm not available to work on this; I don't think it should preempt any of my existing work.

Keaycee commented 6 years ago

Very well explained by @PatrickM727 . It's a nice idea to have an affiliate link for all registered members of the RChain community. Irrespective of members area of specialty, everyone can be part of the influential marketing, it mustn't be marketers only. I also think, onboarding newbies does not fully measure the work done by coop member or marketer, rather what you sell to them about RChain, the new emergent blockchain development platform. The affiliate links can create more exposure about the coop.

Keaycee commented 6 years ago

@philipandri002 i'm changing the thread issue to Affiliate link for influential marketing

philipandri002 commented 6 years ago

@keaycee great work I believe this idea can improve on the way we participate in RChain..

David405 commented 6 years ago

I don't believe affiliate marketing is required in RChain marketing for some very important reasons:

My opinion: Affiliate/Referral marketing will do more harm than good as it will cause more people to try to defraud the bounty program and it will also reduce the reputation of RChain coop

philipandri002 commented 6 years ago

@David405 it is a great notion you have raised however I want to state that even though there are concerns it will be a concern that should be addressed during the process of development. The issue you raised should be treated as one of the hurdles that we can prevent while working out the possibility and also creating security measures as well. However saying no need for an affiliate marketing or work measurement for RAM and their effort is not sustainable. My reasons are, nothing exist in the Tech world without a posing risk and challenges but that shouldn't make us kill the idea.

Facebook, twitter, and several platforms are all great platforms yet they have several challenges and risk. Perfection can be worked on overtime

My Objective if you look at it from my point of view helps members to reach out directly to anyone about the importance of RChain and enables the prospect to also see that you are a Registered member.

Dealing with the issue of Spam and Fraud I think an affiliate or referral link even makes it difficult for scammers to use being that the link will be generated by RChain for every member.

@dckc by We? I mean everyone that has contributed in one way or the other on this trend. Concerning the programmer I have been consulting with some very intelligent African developers to come on board I.e to become RAM and see if they can be of help.

I personally believe this is a right step towards the right direction

pmoorman commented 6 years ago

@philipandri002 are you available any of these days to think through how we can better define the scope / goal of this issue?

I think you're generally on to something here, and with a move more and more towards value-based pricing for all marketing work, this kind of idea makes sense.

The problem for now is: how to articulate properly what we want to do, and how to set up a decent strategy to get there.

Can you contact me on Discord (@pmoorman) so we can discuss about it? I hope we can revive this issue together!

philipandri002 commented 6 years ago

@pmoorman! That would be great..

casparlusink commented 6 years ago

Hi everyone,

I am new to the community, but my friend @pmoorman filled me in on some of the things you are working on. I was reading this threat, #775 and others and I do tend to agree with @philipandri002 and @pmoorman in that:

  1. Community members need to be incentivized to increase acquisition of blockchain/dApp devs/mavens and other valuable people for the community
  2. To be able to make this feasible, it needs to be measurable (and not prone to scams), so there must be an estimated value for every 'asset' people bring in

The biggest concern (as brought up by @jasoncruzzy & @David405 ) is that this might be prone to abuse:

Although these concerns are important, I think that this initiative is worth the effort and that we can work past any issues.

@pmoorman and @philipandri002, I have some thoughts on how we can work past these concerns. Can I contact you on discord to discuss this further?

pmoorman commented 6 years ago

Hey @casparlusink, welcome here! To everyone else: I work with Caspar regularly on other projects, and invited him to think along here on our marketing attribution issues.

If you can work together with @philipandri002 to get something set up here, it would certainly help in adding to the credibility of the bounty system, as all results should be much easier to attribute than they currently are.

I'll cc @dckc and @deannald here, because I think this issue is important for the overall health of the bounty rewards system. If we can put it on the agenda for our next label guides call, that would be great!

philipandri002 commented 6 years ago

@casparlusink @pmoorman you're welcome to discuss with me at all times.. Meet me in discord as @philipandri

dckc commented 6 years ago

@pmoorman writes:

Please be more clear about what you want to discuss. I don't see a proposed next step here, so I can't tell if it's something that would benefit from meeting time.

casparlusink commented 6 years ago

@dckc and @pmoorman, I think the initiative needs to be more explicit before it can be discussed properly. I'm now talking with @philipandri002 to discuss the it. I'll post a new issue with a formalized, complete plan that can be discussed effectively.
