Delegate REV for Staking like Tezos. #15

Closed dimworm closed 3 years ago

People can delegate their REV to a staking pool. Their REV does not need to leave their wallet. Reference: https://medium.com/anonstake/staking-tezos-xtz-how-to-delegate-tezos-with-trustwallet-f3b97e542711

Delegated proof of stake? Discuss with Greg to get more clarity on how this is working and relationship to network security.

Jim: Tezos uses 'liquid PoS' which is different from us. If coop will continue to be in the staking business, they have to think of what capabilities they need.

Theo: we need to consider how the smart contracts would be signed in the Tezos type of methodology. If we fix this in some elegant manner, may be a good solution without validators physically holding the specific individual stakes -- can this someway be used to derisk the validator while maintaining network security ?

nzpr: Are we trying to enable large staked pools with huge validators or individual small stakes running small nodes or networks?

Tezos allows delegating your whole wallet for staking because there is no risk of losing any of the balance, only the rewards are slashed. It is liquid-proof-of-stake since the balances can change.

Greg: Tezos is based on Delegated Proof of Stake which has well known issues. Rchain is not doing this and so this is not applicable to us. Delegation in our situation will cause serious network security issues. Recommend the issue be closed.
