Disable notification area #6

Is it possible to permanently disable the notification area?

KEIII that's not recommended since the only things moved to the (old-named) systray, are permanent application icons, not notifications themselves. For example, Pidgin is moved to the systray, but the notifications made by it (new message, etc.) are not.

So, by the moment, I'm not planning to fully disable the notifications area for reverting to the old notifications system. Sorry.
