Hi there!
Having troubles with this NAS box, is anyone using it over wifi for serving
media files?
I know My wireless is not the bottleneck (listening mp3s from a pc to another
works just fine), so I thought the small cpu or little ram of this nas would be
the problem... but no one is reporting problems here, so I am bugged!!
I tried both ntfs and fat with similar results (I know ntfs is not recommended,
but fat should be ok!)
Also, I have a thumb drive that won't mount at all: I can see it in the
"drives" section, but not in the "shares" section (i.e.:it won't show up in the
list of my devices)... any idea?

I also noticed RAM usage is nearly always above 90% (usually 94-96%).

Thank you!!

Jap...got the same problem.

I also tested EXT3, the speed is about 70kBit/s in all cases.
Another test was to connect the NAS to the PC directly, it doesn't help, too.
RAM usage is about 95%.

Do you have any solutions for that?

Thanks...Alex

Yeah... I brought back the item to the vendor!

As far as I am concerned this is just not powerful enough to stream a/v via
wireless.
I would buy a cheap pc and install linux, but I'd like to have something easy
on power consumption. At this point in time I have no solution to my home nas
requirements.a

Did dealextreme replace the NAS?

The wireless thing doesn't matter, I think.
