What steps will reproduce the problem?
  1. call method openPort() 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
  I expect no output! But there is one character sent (0xff)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
  the product version is jssc 2.6.0
  operating system ist "raspian" on Raspberry (ARM)
