It is an 8 stranded beta barrel, so it should be D4 instead of D2.

Agreed, D4 for 8-stranded antiparallel beta barrels.

This is an interesting case, with the polyterpene down the axis of symmetry.

CE-Symm only finds C2, but it is definitely an interesting case and could allow us to discuss the beta barrels.
