Literature Review #1

We should do a literature survey to find possibly related work, we can collect the list of papers here and include notes/summaries from reading them

Not a paper, but here was an attempt back in the 80s to create a vendor-independent exchange format. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EDIF

Edif files are still used in companies like Xilinx, but are definitely not universal.
