Hmmm, their website says "no". But we had to pull it from our forwarders.
Sounds like an issue that you should be reported to q9 ?
Do use dig
or nslookup
to verify if it is DNS issue or something else.
FYI family.adguard-dns.com blocks it as well, which is an upstream Adguard Home DNS server. I sent support an email to remove it.

Quad9 9.9.9.9 blocks api.ipify.org as well https://www.quad9.net/
9.9.9.9 is a popular global "secure" DNS server that many people use in their forwarders (for example).
