Perhaps this AppleScript http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=addorsubtractplaycount could be married with a bit of Rdio API.

In the same vein, I think that its possible to discover the current playing iTunes track in osx. This may be something more for the Eavesdrop project, but I think it would be nifty if the Rdio desktop app could display " is playing in iTunes".
