Archon login fails, no error or email #57

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to login to a new install of Archon/Paragent
2. Use either email address or username
3. Try to login (fails), try to Reset Password (no email is sent)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should login or send a password reset email.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS: Ubuntu Linux 7.10 (Gusty) and git download of paragent on 3rd December
2007 (sorry can't get the version of archon, don't know how to use git
properly)

Please provide any additional information below.
This is all with the default install as described in the Install doc on the
google code wiki. Using MySQL as the database.

the default install is still probably missing some configuration settings to
know where to email problems, etc. in
the db directory of the distribution is a file config.lisp - you should make
sure that all the settings in there are
sane. Also, you might want to check /var/log/nexus-dribble to see if there are
any errors that might give an idea
of what is going on.

OK. I forgot I submitted this bug. I have since installed successfully (using
the
Easy installer, well, running those commands since they mostly don't work in a
Debian
box).

I think the real problem with this bug was that I was going to the URL:
http://server/paragent/
which was not directing to main.ucw, rather it redirected to test.paragent.com
for
the login form. I didn't notice the URL change.
Another possibility is the MySQL old-password/new-password issue, that might
have
foxed it.

Anyway, Nexus is working nicely now.
Thanks
