Defining and assigning roles and tasks #399

Open YvanaGlasenapp opened 2 years ago

YvanaGlasenapp commented 2 years ago

People and institutions involved in the research project should be listed in a structured way right at the start of the questionnaire. Roles should be defined (e.g. speaker, PI, data manager, student assistant etc.)

Structured information for people means separate fields for title, name, surname, institutional affiliation, position in the project and role regarding RDM tasks (which should be a dropdown list of the roles defined before).

When filling out the questionnaire, it should be possible to assign the responsibility for RDM tasks related to the respective (sub)chapters to certain persons or roles (again via a dropdown list).

Part of your request seems to require a new feature in rdmo. There exist an similar feature requesthttps://github.com/rdmorganiser/rdmo/issues/155

Yes, user/role defined views would be one part of the request; the other idea was to have all persons involved in the project listed with their respective role, so that when filling out fields like "Quality assurance" you could add the people responsible by simply choosing the role from a drop-down menu (like choosing "Data manager" in this case)

moving this issue since this is a feature request related to rdmo itself

This can be either connected to https://github.com/rdmorganiser/rdmo/issues/497 (e.e. extending the Project model) or just creating a catalog section with the roles.
