co is not a git command #13

Closed yonizaf closed 11 years ago

yonizaf commented 11 years ago

Your script uses 'git co ' to select a specific branch, but 'co' is not a git command. Sure, you can set an alias, and maybe on some systems there's such an alias, but on most linux systems that I checked there isn't.

What happens then - the script checks out the master branch (i guess) and unless something goes wrong you have no way of knowing that what you compiled is not what you meant to.

good timing oops. Ok hopefully fixed now thank you for the report. -r

Sorry I am must write again. The compiling works fine, but the compression crash. After the line: "[libx264 @ 04c75420] using SAR=1/1" ffmpeg crash.

you could run ffmpeg_g under gdb perhaps it will give a stack trace? does zeranoe crash?

What you mean with "under gdb"? Is there any special parameter for ffmpeg_g to get more information? when I use it normal I only get:

Looks normal, but maybe your build crash because of something with the cpu?! You see the "[libx264 @ 046a0780] using cpu capabilities: MMX2 SSE2Fast SSSE3 SSE4.2 AVX" parameter come directly after.

Your script uses 'git co ' to select a specific branch, but 'co' is not a git command. Sure, you can set an alias, and maybe on some systems there's such an alias, but on most linux systems that I checked there isn't.

What happens then - the script checks out the master branch (i guess) and unless something goes wrong you have no way of knowing that what you compiled is not what you meant to.

dang I get it too will have to investigate...

to use gdb, basically download gdb from the win32-w64 project, then run it like c:> gdb.exe full\path\to\ffmpeg_g.exe

then something like, at the gdb prompt: r -i input output.mp4 (watch it fail) then when it fails it drops you to a gdb prompt again, basically at the crash point. Then run, at the gdb prompt: thread apply all bt

which shows you backtraces for what/where it crashed. Though it might not be too helpful if the crash is in the heart of libx264 code...

Nice work. Anyway pull the latest could you let me know if it works, and also check it for speed degradation? Thank you. -roger-

dang I get it too will have to investigate...

to use gdb, basically download gdb from the win32-w64 project, then run it like c:> gdb.exe full\path\to\ffmpeg_g.exe

then something like, at the gdb prompt: r -i input output.mp4 (watch it fail) then when it fails it drops you to a gdb prompt again, basically at the crash point. Then run, at the gdb prompt: thread apply all bt

which shows you backtraces for what/where it crashed. Though it might not be too helpful if the crash is in the heart of libx264 code...

Looks normal, but maybe your build crash because of something with the cpu?! You see the "[libx264 @ 046a0780] using cpu capabilities: MMX2 SSE2Fast SSSE3 SSE4.2 AVX" parameter come directly after.

What is the full output from a working zeranoe (recent) build? I suppose a possible suspect is that you/we are using a more updated libx264 version, though those are usually pretty stable ... -r

you could run ffmpeg_g under gdb perhaps it will give a stack trace? does zeranoe crash?

Sorry I am must write again. The compiling works fine, but the compression crash. After the line: "[libx264 @ 04c75420] using SAR=1/1" ffmpeg crash.
