Decklink not enabled in ffmpeg after successful build #539

Despite building with the following command line: ./cross_compile_ffmpeg.sh -d --disable-nonfree=n --compiler-flavors=win64 decklink is not enabled. What have I done wrong?

I have tried on a Windows VM Virtualbox with Ubuntu 20.04, as well as on WSL using Ubuntu 20.04 with the same results.

After a bit of Googling, there is a claim on the following blog (in the comments) that the if statements for decklink are not called, is it possible there is some truth to that? I attempted to remove the if statements and the resulting build still did not include decklink.

Which ffmpeg are you referencing to test it? If it's the right path how are you checking for its being enabled? ffmpeg -codecs? Thanks.

look at banner! you're not using ffmpeg-windows-build-helpers. it's gyan.dev build which's not enabling decklink. no?

@nanake Thanks for weighing in and calling that out.

Perhaps that is the issue, but I am unclear as to how I could fix the issue. As I said, I created the build using:

./cross_compile_ffmpeg.sh -d --disable-nonfree=n --compiler-flavors=win64

and pulled the final build from: sandbox/win64/ffmpeg_git_with_fdk_aac

Are you suggesting that that is an issue with the build script itself?

given that you run gyan.dev build (ffmpeg version 2021-01-12-git-ca21cb1e36-full_build-www.gyan.dev), the issue's on your side. idk why ffmpeg-gyan.dev get executed.

Is there an ffmpeg.exe in that dir? If so I would have expected it to run it... Unless they changed something? Maybe try .\ffmpeg.exe or something?

I've tried every ffmpeg.exe file that I can find... seeing the same results.

Are we certain that ./cross_compile_ffmpeg.sh -d --disable-nonfree=n --compiler-flavors=win64 is what I should be running to build?

I use this and it works for me with a DeckLink...

./cross_compile_ffmpeg.sh --disable-nonfree=n --compiler-flavors=win64 --build-mp4box=y --build-x264-with-libav=y

For DeckLink you can leave out the last two options.

And I test with these lines - CARD_TYPE is to be replaced.

ffmpeg -sources decklink ffmpeg -sinks decklink ffmpeg -f decklink -sources decklink 1 -i dummy ffmpeg -f decklink -list_formats 1 -i " CARD_TYPE"

Maybe try adding . To your PATH or using the where command to see which one is being found? It's more of a "running the right one" I think...
