If this was possible, it would solve the other problem with the foreground window (mentioned in #32 ).
Interesting idea...so you're suggesting this mostly from the GUI recorder I think?

Well, we would need only one global "hot key" combination (like Ctrl+Alt+R or something like that) to start/stop the recordings. So yes, it would be only for the GUI recorder. The point is that the GUI window of the recorder could stay in the background.
This way the user could work with the program he needs to record (so that would be the foreground window), press the keyboard combination and start recording. And stop it when he finished without switching from the active foreground window.
