can't capture transparent window in XP or Win7?

Are you not using aero in windows 7? There is an option to enable it in windows XP it just makes the mouse flicker I believe: https://github.com/rdp/screen-capture-recorder-to-video-windows-free/blob/master/configuration_setup_utility/setup_screen_tracker_params.rb#L16 FWIW

Basically set that registry key, the README might help as well...
