Marc S said he was able to recreate this more or less, and said it may be due to a slow server on their end - the webstart app is taking to long to download maybe? after a short wait he was able to launch roes, but did see what I described.
Hopefully this is just a temporary server glitch.
something in 10.8 had a breaking change for 10.7. Should be fixed now.
we have had multiple people recently say that roes no longer will launch on their mac - 10.7. They see a roes webstart message, but nothing happens. Then when they click on the icon to launch it looks like it is going to launch and then disappears.
