Describe the bug
I have no idea what happened, because the first time I used the launcher, it downloaded and launched just fine. I only stopped playing Minecraft for a while, and when I came back, re-downloaded my instances for a clean slate. But now, downloading an instance is extremely slow and then after "finishing" the download, I open the instance folder and all it has is two text files. Pressing play on the instance only tries to re-download game files, once again taking an eternity, and afterwards the instance folder still only has the same two text files. Try to press play again, and the cycle repeats. I've tried a clean reinstall of the launcher, no leftovers, and the issue remains. I've tried selecting vanilla, fabric, and forge to download as an instance, none worked.
Launcher Version
Version is 1.5.3, the same version I used when the issue was non-existent.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Launch rpLauncher
Create/Sign-in account
Go through greeting messages
Attempt to download (any) instance
Wait for a long duration to finish downloading
Download "finishes"
Attempt to launch instance
Launcher tries to re-download game files
Repeat from step 5 to now
Stop repeating steps
Check instance folder
Instance folder is empty (only 2 text files)
Attempt to download again
Open instance folder while downloading
Periodically refresh folder
No additional files in instance folder throughout the course of the download
Expected behavior
I expect it to download swiftly and then be able to launch it. I also expect the instance folder to contain the game files. As it did before.
Operating System:
OS: Windows
Version: 11
Java Version: Whatever comes with the launcher
Minecraft Version: 1.19.3
Mod Loader: Fabric
Additional context
To reiterate, it worked perfectly before. I stopped playing for a few months, wiped my instances for a clean slate, and then I encounter the issue. I also have a fast internet speed, about 50 mbps, so my internet should not be the reason for the slow download. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
