Senior Front End Engineer

About the role

Senior front-end engineer sought to lead development of new React-based web application, making use of existing and new back-end REST APIs. Leadership responsibilities will be commensurate with the capabilities of the engineer, but at a minimum the engineer should be the primary technical leader for the front-end portion of the project and offer supportive secondary leadership for the backend and stakeholder engagement and project management parts of the team.

Your experience on this team will be to:

• Lead the design and implementation of the front-end application
• Assist in engaging stakeholders for ongoing clarification and validation of requirements
• Assist the team in designing and building automated testing (probably Cypress-based) to verify the implementation
• Support and cooperate with back-end development efforts
• Assist in hiring and training new staff as the team goes

You should be interested in this role for either of two reasons:

1. You are experienced at leading React-based front-end teams and you want the chance to build a new app and team which are both beautiful, or
2. You are experienced at building React-based front-end applications, and you think you’re ready to be a leader and build a new app and team which are both beautiful.

The position is fully remote, and coworking space is available in Florianópolis, SC - Brazil.

Minimum Qualifications

• JavaScript experience, including React, testing, and concepts like asynchronous programming, types, and ES6. Experience with Cypress and Jest are a bonus
• HTML/CSS experience, including concepts like layout and specificity
• Client-server communication experience, including REST APIs and WebSockets. Experience with GraphQL and SSR are bonus
• 5+ years of experience as a front end developer

Preferred Qualifications

• Computer Science or Engineering degree
• 8+ years of experience as a front end developer
• Proficient at various front end technologies
• Leadership experience
