vonovak commented 1 year ago

Note that I'm looking for sponsors who would be willing to support this work. See https://github.com/react-native-google-signin/google-signin/issues/942

This might help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH1YBcVmM-M

I'm going to close this because one-tap sign in (the not-deprecated one, using credential manager) is available here https://github.com/react-native-google-signin/google-signin#project-setup-and-initialization

can i have access to the latest react native sign in with all features if i am one time sponsor?

vonovak commented 10 months ago

hello @rboy0509, ~Github's sponsor-only repositories work only for monthly sponsors, so the answer is no. I updated the docs to make this clearer.~ there are one-time options available

Thank you!

rboy0509 commented 10 months ago

@vonovak if it possible can you give me 1 month access, i paid one time sponsor today to get one. It really was unclear. If not it will be a little gift to support your work.

I dont know where to write , but i am looking for paid consultation to help me integrate this package via videocall step-by-step. If you have some one to help me, please give contact. Because i have "DEVELOPER_ERROR" and dont know what i do wrong, i read all your docs but it does not help me

vonovak commented 10 months ago

Hello, @rboy0509 I invited you to the private repo now. You can reach out to me at vonovak@gmail.com and we can talk about the consultation.

Thank you πŸ™‚

Is there any plan to make One-tap available to the public at any point, or will this always be a sponsored feature?

vonovak commented 2 months ago

hello @calebpanza at the moment it's hard to give definite answers ("always") but I might be able to say more soon. There's still a lot of improvements to be done and sponsorships enable those to happen.

Sign in can still be implemented with the public features.

Thank you πŸ™‚

Ok great. Thanks for the update. I'm sure you're already aware of this, but Google's documentation considers the old way to be legacy (possibly deprecated?) and I would love to avoid building/rolling out my own solution to this as your package is very well done!

vonovak commented 2 months ago

Hello πŸ™‚ Yes, I'm aware of the original android SDK being deprecated, though it still works and many apps use it.

I also understand your wish to not roll out your own solution. My goal was always to deliver exactly that, with top quality code and docs. However, doing that on my own without any compensation is unsustainable - it takes probably more work than most imagine.

As this, and other gh issues show, I was looking for companies who would sponsor the work. Because none have showed up, I made these extra features available in exchange for money.

Depending on what your needs are, sponsoring will save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars worth of development time. If there's any reason why sponsoring doesn't work for you or your company I'd love to know it! πŸ™‚

Thank you, Vojtech

Totally understand the tension there! Being fully transparent, we're in a similar situation where we're a small startup with limited funding. I hope you don't read my comments as "demands" or "expectations" but simply an inquiry.

Thank you for the response! We'll continue to leverage the original SDK for the time being and would love to support your work as we grow
