didReceiveRemoteNotification message to trigger a post to server #141

I have the requirement for the app to send a keep-alive post to the server every 3 hours, at the moment I am attempting to use a "content-available" notification sent by the server to wake the app and send the push back. I currently cannot get this to work when the app is dead. Am I barking up the wrong tree or should this be possible? Any help would be appreciated.

If the app is force killed it won't reboot itself even with notification. Tbh I don't think there is a workaround for this. If the app is in background state or removed from memory (swiped up from recent apps view) it should work without problem.

I thought swiping it up from recent app view did kill the app?
