EU VAT Registered Buyer Tax Zero Rating

Issue: If you sell to a VAT registered customer in the EU (B2B), you can zero rate the sale (0% tax) if the buyer is VAT registered.

Solution:

• Allow users to mark whether they are business (commercial address exists already?)
• If so allow them to mark that they are VAT registered, and validate their VAT number
• Add a tax setting (on custom rates) that allows sellers (if located in the EU) to zero rate taxes to EU VAT companies
• This validation also exists in avalara, but I don't believe it's part of the current integration?

Considerations: This could be generalised to allow for other tax rules in other regions.
