funding: what sort of sponsors are unacceptable? #27

three of the sponsors on the reactiveui page at the moment are online casinos
afaik they do not use reactiveui
they are buying the advertising slots

I have so many questions... I can’t imagine RxUI generates many leads for them - how did it even land on their radar? Is this like an automated thing - look for OpenCollective tiers that mention “logo” or something and auto-donate?

I'd feel no obligation to take their funds.

What if we accepted their funds, didn't display the adverts and redirected the income to outreachy or anti-gambling equiv?

Ethically we probably should just have backers that aren't going to cause controversy. So ban their arses.
