can aeneas perform solely phoneme recognition? #274

I do not care about words at all, but am looking for a phoneme recognition API, even if it does not tokenize the phonemes in words. Is it feasible with Aeneas? If not, any pointers?

No, aeneas it is not designed for phoneme alignment.

You can find many tools for forced alignment listed here:
