Manuscript Prep Schedule #11

Open readersm opened 3 years ago

I am very flexible with this schedule and hope to go much faster than outlined. August starts our new internship so I really need to get them both done before then. I thought since we're considering building out some economics from the litterbag study to include in the biomass one, it might make sense to aim to get the litterbag one done first, but I am flexible on that. I'm happy if we want to include Mike on it at some point (as a coauthor).

Also, Arun published his litterbag study on peanut residues in Renewable Ag and Food Systems and I know Mike recommended the same. Should we aim for the same journal on both or consider submitting the biomass to another one (even though I started with that one already)?

I have to write an article for ECHO that'll go in our April issue of EDN, but I've been working on it since I finished my thesis and am close to being done. I should be able to finish it by Wednesday and then switch gears back to the manuscript prep.

I think this is a good timeline. Getting your papers out this spring can be a priority of mine.

RAFS is a good place to go for at least one. You might reach out to an editor suggesting you have a pair of "companion" papers to see if they are interested. Otherwise, I am supporting of choosing a second journal, as well.

Some Choices

Hey @readersm, Happy March! How's your writing coming along?

readersm commented 3 years ago

Hey @brymz it's been slow so far with departmental shifts that are happening at ECHO and the new internship, but Tim mentioned these manuscripts to me this Monday as something we can put into my performance evaluation for the next 6 months. So the timeline may shift a bit, but I'm still working on things! Friday mornings will likely the days I can work on the manuscripts most. I'm hoping to get you the decomposition article by the end of this month, then we can invite Mike in to edit as well. I just need to re-do the weather data by week which Mike wanted and make sure it fits the style guide again because you can never check enough times. Thanks for checking in!

Alright, Stacy. Let me know how I can help. Larousse is also working on her paper, so I was hoping we can make progress together.

Hey @brymz I've been slowed down a lot by a new development in my personal life - Micah and I found out a few weeks ago that we're pregnant and pretty far along! So I've been playing a lot of catch-up on that and am full into my second trimester now. I took Friday this week off and am going to work on the manuscript all day, hoping to get you a draft then! Sorry for all of the delays. I'm still here and still working, but am definitely slower and more tired.

Congratulations, @readersm!! Hope you have a good writing day on Fri. Get some rest while you still can!
