New highlights are not synced (still open after fix) #6

Open Wrglfmpft opened 1 year ago

Hi,

I've seen the issue #5 was closed, however I'm still experiencing the issue: New highlights are not being synced and added to existing pages. If I delete the entire page and resync, then the complete page is synced including the new highlights. Seems the same issue is still occurring.

Hello @Wrglfmpft can you send your e-mail registered on Readwise to bruno@readwise.io? Is this happening with every kind of document (articles, books, etc)?

hey @brunojm 👋

I'm seeing this problem too. I will send an email to bruno@readwise.io

@duduribeiro

I have identified the bug in August last year and forwarded to Bruno. It's a known issue but obviously doesn't get fixed by Readwise - no idea why...

Here's what I sent to Bruno in August, maybe it helps you: "Hi Bruno,

good news, I found the bug.

If the Sync Notification field in the Export settings is left empty or being amended, then the import into Logseq will not work. I tried it several times and the issue can be reproduced every time, so I assume this is the actual bug. Once I keep the standard setting, books get updated correctly.

Can you update the plugin for the last version and check if you are still seeing no updates on the docs?

Hi, I tested with the 1.4.5 version and the new highlights can be added to the page. Nevertheless, the updating message persists on the plugin's setting page.

Update: After re-opening logseq it works perfectly. Thank you for the fix!

Hi @brunojm @TristanH , I believe the problem still persists. I left the Sync Notification field empty, but some of the latest highlights from an article cannot be synced to logseq. Only after deleting the entire page and re-syncing, they finally appear.

To clarify, I initially added some new highlights to an article and they were successfully synced. However, later on the same day when I added more highlights, these newly added ones could not be synced.

Update: I just changed the Export format to include the {{time}}: {% if is_new_page %} Highlights first synced at {{datetime|date('H:i')}}, {{date}} {% elif has_new_highlights %} New highlights added at {{datetime|date('H:i')}}, {{date}} {% endif %} Now the newly added highlights can be synced correctly.
