'alarm mode listener' node not working

refresh - token works (camera motion listener node picking up stuff)
changed the alarm mode numerous times via ring app
no events fired from 'alarm mode listener' => what could be wrong?

I observe another issue when deploying an 'alarm Status' node, node-red crashes and restarts with a message:

26 Nov 15:16:02 - [red] Uncaught Exception: 26 Nov 15:16:02 - [error] TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'onData') at /data/node_modules/@realsixi/node-red-contrib-ring-alarm/dist/ring-alarm.js:473:29 at processTicksAndRejections (node:internal/process/task_queues:95:5) npm notice

which I dont understand. Iam not trying to set an alarm mode, I'd like to get the value.
