Post Meta and Options are fairly automated (Post Meta by this plugin, Options by utilizing the Settings API)
However, Term Meta still requires a fair amount of work on the developer.
If Term Meta were supported more similarly to Post Meta for Saving/Updating/Deleting that would be pretty nice.
