At Sept 2016 project meeting, it was decided that the best interface between realfast and CBE was through written files (SDM/BDF). Input and output can be mediated by those formats.
Potential issues:
This may introduce data rate bottleneck (really only for input), but as a first step it is desirable to write data.
This also requires some MCAF hacking for realfast to trigger archiving (as an output).
