Reported this in Reaper Forum, but someone pointed out it should be reported here instead. So here is a repeat:
Make a small project with three tracks. Call them First, Second and Third.
Now add some audio items in all tracks. Let say we add three items in First.
Then select all items in First and choose "explode items across tracks keeping position".
What happens to me is that First will now be a folder track with three children tracks. If this worked correctly I should have my three items spread across the three children tracks.
Well, I do. But the uppermost of these children tracks is now named Second and also contains the audio clips from the track originally named Second in addition to one of the clips from First.
