can't repro here (osx lion reaper64). this is a weird one..
please Wolfger can you:
1) attach or copy/paste the osx crash dump here? 2) attach you reaper.ini file here (or copy/paste the FULL content of its "[sws]" section here 3) then remove the entire "[sws]" section from that ini file => does it fix the issue? (please, make sure you have done 2) first!)
thank you in advance!

As requested her are the attached files. I removed the [SWS] swection from the ini file --> same problem. It only happens when Region Playlist Window is docked. I can´t open close RPL anymore via the menu or key command. I can´t remember which prerelease this started to happen. Maybe some weeks ago. i also attached a screenshot with multiple RPL docked.

Many, many thanks for all the detaile, Wolfger! I really appreciate it!!
Unfortunately I still can't repro (tried hard) even when I use your attached REAPER.ini. No prob here on 32/64bit on OSX, Win XP and Win7..
Your inputs show that there is something deepely wrong here and the crashlog you have posted confirms that too!
I have more Qs for you (sorry to bug you about that, and thanks in advance for hanging on!) :
@Tim: if you read this/have a moment, can you try to repro on your end?
From wolfg...@gmail.com on August 03, 2012 04:54:06
OK, I did a complete clean install with REAPER 4.25 official release. Problem still exists.
1) I only have newest SWS 2.3.02 reaper_sws.dylib in the user plug in folder 2) I can repro this issue with other SWS dockable windows, track manager for example.(did not try all) 3) if several SWS docked wiindows opened I can close the first one with the little x button, trying to close another one reaper crashes.
I attached reaper.ini of the clean install reaper folder and the crashlog of the clean install reaper 4.25 crashing.
thamx for taking care, wolfger

Summary: OSX docking issue: multiple docked windows instances + crashes
From wolfg...@gmail.com on August 03, 2012 05:16:11
No problem, I´m leaving for holidays tomorrow too.
Meanwhile I made a clean install of the oldest reaper and SWS extension I have laying around which is Reaper 4.23pre18 and SWS 2.2.0.14 and the problems are the same. No idea why I didn´t realize this one earlier, hhmm. My workaround meanwhile is closing the docked window via srceenset recall.
Have a good time, wolfger

Issue 503 has been merged into this issue.
From jeffos...@gmail.com on August 21, 2012 12:50:29
ok, some progress.. Weird, indeed: I can now repro on OSX (on both 32&64-bit) -BUT- only when using the stock SWS v2.3.0.2. When I use the one I build/compile (w/ sws patched WDL) locally here, no bug, everything is ok (that's why I could not repro in a first time..).
So, this looks like a build issue and I somehow have a fix since mine is OK...

Weird, indeed. I will have to take a look on my build machine and see if I can repro it there...
From jeffos...@gmail.com on August 21, 2012 12:57:55
hi Tim! Unfortunately, my working OSX project is not the stock one: base SDK 10.7, project migrated to XCode4 and I build fat binaries but I had to drop PPC support here. Let me know if that project can help though!
From greg.so...@gmail.com on August 22, 2012 11:31:35
any word on this issue? If a fix doesn't seems likely in the near future, can you tell me which version to roll back to that will avoid this.
thanks
From swstim on August 22, 2012 11:38:49
I haven't had a chance to look. If I don't get it fixed tonight it will be several days before I will have a chance again.
I don't know how far back you have to go, but it's before 2.2.0.14 per wolfger above. Try 2.2.0.2 if you like, http://www.standingwaterstudios.com/reaper/2.2.0/sws_osx.dmg

cool, thanks man

Wolfger, Greg: I've had a chance to check it out, please try: http://sws-extension.googlecode.com/files/sws_2.3.0.3.dmg I've tested what I can and it seems to be much better, but if you could give it a shot before I post a general release I'd appreciate it.

Just checked it out, and some things are better - opening the resources with actions\toolbars no longer creates multiple empty resource windows - so that's good
though when I tried to drag the resource window (that is docked in the main window) to a floating position, it still crashed -
I've attached the report -
thanks for checkin this out -

also, before, when renaming slots, I could not exit the dialogue - that is fixed now

Greg, thanks for checking. I can't reproduce the second crash on my system. I will come back to it later; for now it's bedtime! Glad to hear it's mostly working though.

Hey Tim,
i haven't been able to reproduce that crash either - it happened (so far) only the first time I did that. Maybe it just had to clear through some cyber-cobwebs from the previous build.
Tried a bunch more times and no crashes - so........I'll keep an eye out for it, but as of now it seems to be a non-issue
right on man, thanks a ton, good work!
From wolfg...@gmail.com on August 23, 2012 01:13:07
everything seems to be working ok over here!! Didn´t have a lot of time it to check out though. Thanx for taking care. wolfger

v2.3.0.3 fixes things here too, great! note: could not repro gwok's new crash either (and it was not a sws one according to the crash log..)

I have a problem with Region Playlist: On MAC OSX 10.7.4, newest reaper pre 64bit newest SWS prerelease
If the Region Playlist is docked I can´t close the Playlist anymore after opening it. Closing adds another docked playlist. So after trying to close a region playlist for say 5 times I end up with 6 docked Region Playlists. I can the one Playlist with clicking the little x. After trying to close another PL Reaper crashes.
All this doesn´t happen when open/closing a non-docked Playlist.
Thanx Wolfger
