Resources - create folder when making bookmark #511

hey guys,

Another resource request. As stated, the idea is that when making a new bookmark, there is an option when the dialogue comes up to create a new folder as well. If chosen yes, then you get to choose the path for the folder. As well the auto-save\fill could then be linked to this location automatically potentially.

For how I like to use the resources, it would allow me (and others) to utilize them to an even greater degree for archiving data quickly, and building a database easily - especially on a sort of "per project" level. For eg - while working on a tune, I might archive many track templates with different bits\parts, so making folders on the fly, along with the bookmarks would really expand the possibilites\usage, and improve the flow - imo :)

What do you guys think?

cheers!

Attaching a bookmark to a directory is already possible: once you added a bookmark, right-click the auto-save (and/or auto-load) button to set the directory you want. If you need the same the auto-save & auto-load directories, then enable the "sync directory" option first.

Let me know if that is ok (to close the issue)

hey Jeffos,

What I'm asking is not to be able to attach a bookmark to a folder - which yes can be done :) - what I am asking is to be able to create a folder when creating a bookmark.

As you can see here - at least on osx, a folder cannot be make when attaching a bookmark to a directory - http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/534/screenshot20120909at115.png/ so what I am requesting is the ability to create a folder through the resources. This would really add to the ease of use (imo) and add even more to the power to the resources (imo).

cheers,

g

hey Jeffos,

I saw this is the latest pre-release - "# OSX: directory browsers allow directory creation"

was that needed in order to be able to do this? if so, I guess that's good news :)

Patience :) As I said, we will have to wait a bit for SWS: the little mod I submitted in WDL seems already used in REAPER but Cockos did not publish it yet. I could include that in our version of WDL but that would be temporary/useless work..

hey Jeffos,

I didn't mean to seem impatient, I was more just curious :)
