Hi,

This implements ability to save reports as .xls files. It would be great if this PR was accepted.

Awesome - we reviewed and merged this and released version 2.2 with this addition. We also updated the README.

If you're interested in working on it, we'd love to also have support for OpenOffice and Google Spreadsheets formats. The roo gem can be used for that. We've added those it to a new "Roadmap" section on the README.

In any case, thanks for your contribution!

Thank you! I found this gem very useful for some of my rails applications. I will take a look at roo to see if it can emprove our code!
