RJ has been working full-time in the blockchain space since 2018. Previously, RJ was the Co-founder and CTO of Harmony, where he led the development of the Harmony blockchain, which pioneered the introduction of sharding to PoS networks.
Raluca Ada Popa, Co-founder & Research Advisor
Raluca is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at UC Berkeley. Her research focuses on applied cryptography and security systems. Raluca also serves as a Director of Sky Lab at UC Berkeley, where she leads a research group focused on decentralized trust and security.

About the Role:
The Smart Contract Engineer is in charge of designing, implementing and testing of the smart contract modules that act as the interfaces for Exocore network to communicate with other L1 blockchains. These smart contracts hold the restaked assets from L1 blockchains and are under control of the Exocore decentralized network. The security and gas-efficiency of these smart contracts will be the most important factors for the successful implementation of Exocore’s omnichain system.
You will work with a globally distributed team of top-tier engineers and collaborate with top researchers in cryptography and blockchain protocols, to implement the best smart contract system in a secure and efficient way.
Job Description:
Design, implement, and test Solidity smart contracts that can hold significant amount of funds.
Collaborate with a global engineering team on the design and development of smart contract modules integrated with various L1 blockchains.
Study and fix security vulnerabilities of mission-critical smart contracts. Develop strategy to handle security incidents in order to minimize fund loss.
Write comprehensive test suites on the smart contracts to ensure their correct functionality.
Develop web applications that interact with the smart contracts, display informational data and allow users to send transactions.
Job Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and related majors.
1+ years experience on smart contract development with Solidity, Move or Rust.
Developed production-level smart contracts that’s upgradable, secure, cost-effective and able to hold significant amount of funds (TVL).
Passionate about blockchain technology and demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly.
Ability to write clean, readable and efficient code with sufficient comments.
Critical thinking and ability to understand the inner working of complex systems.
Good communication skills on conveying complicated ideas and writing technical documentations.
Willingness to adapt to new technology or area of focus quickly.
Preferred Skills:
Deep knowledge on Ethereum Virtual Machines and comparable VMs of other major blockchains.
Full-stack development experience on production-level smart contract applications.
Experience on professional smart contract auditing.
