Text tool stops allowing new text once a shape is made... #881

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add some text using the text tool
2. Then create a few squares and circles
3. Now select the text tool and try to add some new text.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect a new text box allowing me to enter new text. But instead it 
displays a empty text box that is not selectable.

In what browser did you experience this problem? (ALL, Firefox, Opera, etc)
Chrome on PC and Mac

In what version of SVG-edit does the problem occur? (Latest trunk, 2.5.1,
etc)
2.5.1
