RDNA + DXVK & 2D texts lags #73

Thank you very much for your work. Final Fantasy XIII is not the best but i'm one of those who loves it.

My issue is about some hard and long lags, specially after loading a level. It fixes after playing some ten minutes or so. It is most noticeable when displaying 2D texts ingame, in menus and not so much in the title screen. Those lags are produced when monsters appear too.

I attached a save file and more information in a TXT file. FFXIII report.txt ff13_2-00.zip

They are caused by DXVK compiling shaders. You can use DXVK-async fork but this will break effect when they are used but shader is not compiled yet. Not fixable by us, fixable only by improving DXVK, note that DXVK is also not supported officially on Windows.

I know that games hangs on Radeons at some points without DXVK but I dont have a AMD card to debug this hangs and @rebtd7 i think have NV card too. DiscardUIVertexBuffer will improve performance but only when using native D3D9. FFXIII is crashing after 4GB Large Address Aware Patch because you not have untouched.exe : https://github.com/rebtd7/FF13Fix#usage-with-the-4gb-large-address-aware-patch-recommended
