Mupen 64 will not work on CPUs with more than one core!!? #180

Describe your system:
 - OS: Widows XP (forgive me for not having Linux)
 - Machine type: 32-bit
 - Mupen64Plus version: 1.03
 - Plugins used: Napalm Public 1.0, Jabo's Direct Sound 1.7.0.2

Describe the problem:
Well, I recently upgraded from a single core PIV 3.20GHz to a Core 2 Quad
Q6600 (2.40GHz) last week and had to reinstall Windows in the process. Ever
since then, Mupen 64 will let me configure the plugins, detect the ROM
files, etc. just fine. Here's the issue, every time I run a ROM (regardless
of the region, country code, blah-blah), it will NOT boot up but give me an
invisible, that's right, an invisible error message box!
Here's a screenshot:

Is it just me, or is this emulator biased against CPUs with more than one core?

would it be possible to post a screenshot that shows what's in the black
window? In
addition, Napalm is not available in source, can you try one of the video
plugins
that ships with the emulator?

Sure, I can upload what I see: First the resolution lowers (maybe 800x600?),
then
this shows up for no reason at all...even when I create a new directory from
scratch

The Win32 build of Mupen64Plus v1.3 was a sort of 'technology test' and is not
supported. We do anticipate the release of a properly supported win32 build
next year.
